Mexico, on Film
I thought I'd switch it up a little this week.
Last September the hubs and I took a little trip Playa Mujeres to celebrate my big sis' 30th. We all dropped the kids off at our parent's house and hopped on a plane down to sunshine and beaches!
My man and I usually prefer taking the road less traveled; stay where the locals live, eat traditional food, avoid tourist traps at all cost, but this time my sister and her husband opted for an all inclusive resort. Lemme tell you...
IT WAS AWESOME! We spent our days soaking up the sun and taking little daily excursions: bike rides, swimming with whale sharks (like, holy crap. It was incredible!), snorkeling, and taking a catamaran ride over to Isla Mujeres.
I chose to bring along an old Pentax k1000 camera since it takes up waaaaaayyyyyyyy less space than my digital dslr (and weighs about 1,000 pounds less). Then I forgot to send off the film to the lab when I got back. Oops. It only took me 9 months to get around to it. These are a few of my faves from the roll I took at the island.
If I could ever get a decent hold on Spanish, I could live here. Seriously. Those colors! That water! That food! Yes, please.
